Went out last night for a bit of a different fishing trip. Went out in the late afternoon to a local lake trout lake with decent numbers of ling and setup for ling in the dark. It was a windy cold night, so we setup the portable shelter, and after it got dark cold and even windier, we visited inside waiting for the set lines to go. We were using some frozen smelt, cured in Pautzke Fire Brine for some colour, flavour and to firm the smelt up, and sat them right on bottom waiting for a ling to sniff em out, and it worked great!
