Excited to try out my Humminbird Helix this winter. Got the Helix 5 all rigged up and ready for the ice! With the gps, flasher mode and real time sonar, plus the charts I've made in the summer with auto chart live, this ought to be dynamite! Spent a fun afternoon with friends on an impromptu rabbit hunt/brook trout fishing trip. Headed out close to home for a couple hours, and ended up a couple pan fryer brookies and 4 snowshoe hares for the crock pot! Finally spent a solid day on the ice this past week, work, renos and a warm getaway have kept us busy most of the winter so far! Spent the day chasing lake trout, fishing was slow but ended up with a few fish. I got a couple lakers and a couple pike, and survived the -30 wind chill! |
