Had a line button buck come in, and get chased around by a spiker, followed in by an even smaller spiker! No big boys appeared, then I left town for a week!
have been spending a lot of time in the woods lately, and last weekend saw three different bucks, not quite shooters though.... Had a line button buck come in, and get chased around by a spiker, followed in by an even smaller spiker! No big boys appeared, then I left town for a week!

so I am on day four of nine days off for deer hunting, and unfortunately the bucks have not been cooperating. Things seem a little upside down this year, I had good activity leading up until November 1st and overnight November 1 had six different bucks on one stand, including three or four shooters. since then they've vanished with only spikes hanging around. Yesterday I finally captured another mature buck on a different stand, after I move my set up on a property. South Carolina night and watched her go for the evening but he didn't reappear. Weather has been unseasonably warm lately, maybe that's what's putting them off
filled a doe tag with my Athens today, healthy lone doe. No other deer around today, buck activity has slowed a bit, still waiting.
after being out of town for a week, I spent the weekend in the deer stand. Have had some new bucks appearing at night, things are starting to happen! Some trail cam pics of them below, all these bucks came overnight on Halloween!
Blew a chance to fill a doe tag yesterday morning, fidgeting in my stand two minutes after arriving getting settled, looked up to a doe staring at me, and promptly running away! Saw a spike buck twice yesterday, he needs a few years! |
