We had some company here over the holidays, and brought a number of them out ice fishing; from England, Calgary and Halifax..  We had about the nicest day we've had in weeks, and ended up quite successful in a day of perch fishing on Black Bay of Lake Superior.  We rented a couple ice shacks, and spent a great day on the ice.

So my brother in law got a dandy deer out of one of my stands with his crossbow. Had some pics of his guy recently but I just ran out of time to hunt sadly! Nice to see my brother in law with his first archery kill!

After finally harvesting a deer with my bow this week, I thought I may take some time to rest, but ended up going out this morning with a friend to try to help full his tags before he leaves town for work. Worked til 4 am, went hunting at 7am (something wrong with me I think). Hunted til about lunchtime, beautiful cool snowy morning, but nothing moving today.

Well after an obscene amount of days in the treestand since September 1st, waiting and watching deer, I've finally run out of time. With my schedule for the last bit of the season I am nearly out of time.

had made a serious effort at harvesting a big buck with the bow, passed on some nice animals, but didnt connect with what I was looking for. I finally decided that I would be happy harvesting any deer with the bow, and shot this tasty looking young buck. Would have liked to let him grow but I am still very excite to harvest a little buck with my bow. Also a good finale to the season; harvesting an archery bear, moose and deer!

Decided to take a morning off from the deer stand and headed out with my dad to try and fill his bull tag. Had some fresh snow but little activity.

Packed up kid afternoon as headed back to the deer fields for the evening but nothing doing.

Went out for two mornings after working midnights, tried to not fall asleep in the blind! Unfortunately was not worth sacrificing sleep for. Still waiting for a nice buck with the bow....... Starting to second-guess some decisions I made earlier this year though!
